FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS |

- Do I have to be a member
to access this site?
No. You can read and look at it all without joining
in any way.
There are some areas of our site which require
member accounts to access. But these are
mostly for modification of personal information,
forum postings, events
maintenance, image uploading etc. But as
a casual visitor,
without the need for these tools, you can
read everything on this site without any special
access.
.
- Can I have the
Member's E-mail address instead of communicating
with them
via the contact forms on the member pages
of this site?
No ... but ...
We realize that blind
communication sometimes presents
hardships.
However our commitment to our
members is to
reduce passive spam. This
site is e-mail sniffer unfriendly,
therefore we do not post
this information for public view. All
addresses are
encoded and contacts are
private. If the member has not contacted
you back within 48 hours, or
within a reasonable amount of time, please let
us know
and we'll help you to contact
them.
.
- I've
found a knife listed in the classified inventory
that I would like to buy? What do I do next?
Our software was developed to help
buyers and sellers communicate
directly on individual
listings posted within our member
inventory. When a person
visiting this site is interested in a listed knife or item, they
will be
provided a link within each ad that will open a special private
communication form. Once filled out,
this form will be sent to the seller
via e-mail
with the item information and the
buyers contact data and comment(s) attached.
From this point, the seller can call or e-mail a reply to the buyer
and discuss
the item or coordinate the shipping and other transaction needs.
This is a completely "private" communication
between the two parties and "none" of
this correspondence information will be seen by the general visiting
public.
.
- I
see webmail, what is this?
Members and Sellers e-mail addresses
are not available for public
view from this site, unless posted by
the member directly. On a
special
need basis,
we will also provide the selling member with a private
e-mail
account on this system for use with The Knife Network™ Webmail System,
making transacting sales and communications on our system professional,
powerful
and convenient. These e-mail accounts
are "private use only".
.
- I
would like to post and sell some of
my knife items on your site, but I don't have
a digital camera,
can you help?
Yes we can. We have
a group of photographers
within our network system
that can assist with this service. Depending on whether you need
images for online articles, personal
site
inventory, prints, magazine
submission and/or quality digital
images for
posting within your Knife
Network™ classified
listings, you can determine which resource is best for your needs.

- I found an image
on The Knife Network that I like, can I
post it on my site or at another site?
Not without contacting the owner of the image
first. In most cases, you'll be granted permission
to use
the images found on this site, but many of the
images you'll encounter are owned images,
having been professionally
taken by, or for their owners. Please request permission
from the owner of the image before using these
for personal or business use.
.
- I noticed your search engine is indexing a
lot of knife web sites. How can I get my site included
in this list?
We offer auto-indexing of personal and corporate web sites to subscribing members
who
are
directly related to the knife industry. By "directly related", we mean selling
knives,
talking about knives, trading or training with knives, etc. If your content qualifies,
we offer two levels of membership which feature the auto-indexing service. These
are the Maker Gold and Dealer Gold membership levels.
